What does “at a distance“ Degree Course mean?

The expression “at a distance” means that the study courses are supplied in telematic way by internet, so that the student can benefit from them independently of the time and the place in which he is. This type of supply allows the student to go to University only to take the exams.

Has the qualification issued the same legal value as the ones issued by the other Universities?

Yes, it has. Pegaso Telematic University , according to the art.26 of law dated 27th December 2002 n.289 and of Ministerial Decree of 17th April 2003, “Criteria and procedure of confirmation of at a distance study courses of State and private Universities and of university Institutions qualified to issue academic qualification”, is authorized to issue valid qualification in all respects in Italy and abroad.

Which are the University centres?

Pegaso Telematic University has the head centre in Naples. Besides, Distant Didactic Poles will be active.

What’s a Learning Center?

The Learning Center is a multi-purpose and approachable structure, equipped with the necessary instruments for the use of on line Didactics. Each centre is supplied with laboratories able to guarantee: - the use of software didactic applications; - the use of instruments for experimental didactic activities; - the access to the Telematic University’s web services; - the access to internet services: On the University’s site a list updated is published of the Learning Center spread on the territory.

Is the enrolment for Pegaso Telematic University open to everyone?

The qualifications for the matriculation and the enrolment for Pegaso Telematic University are the same provided for the traditional Universities. So, everyone who is in possession of a school leaving certificate can apply for enrolment, independently of the year in which it was obtained.

What documents do I have to produce in order to enrol?

The list of documents to be sent to the Students’ Registry of Pegaso Telematic University, via Vittoria Colonna, 14 – 80121 Napoli, is as follows: - On line Enrolment Application Form signed in original; - Copy of Certificate of Secondary Education or substitute Certificate or Self-certification; - photocopy of the identity card ( or of a valid identification document ) signed front/back.; - Photocopy of the fiscal code; - 2 passport ( size ) photo; - Receipt of the effected payment of the enrolment fee; - Receipt of the effected payment of the district contribution for the right to the university study. A list updated of the necessary documents for the enrolment is published annually by the General Secretary Office inside the area reserved of the University’s web site.

How much is the enrolment for the degree courses?

The annual fee amounts to euro 3000. A division in instalments of the fee is provided in two single fees of Euro1500 , to be given respectively on the enrolment and within 6 months from receipt of the access parameters to the platform of “at a distance” courses.

What are the means of payment?

the means of payment are the bank transfer and the card revolving. In which period can one enrol? The enrolments for the degree courses of Pegaso Telematic University are always open. The students, after completing the enrolment procedure, obtain the credentials ( username and password ) in order to have access to e-learning platform and to enjoy the courses in compliance with their own study plan.

Is the attendance compulsory?

No, the attendance isn’t compulsory. The student’s presence is required only when he has to take the exams and when he has to record them. Some teachers can organize optional workshops during the academic year in order to deepen the students’ preparation.

Is the enrolment for at a distance course compatible with another university course?

No, it isn’t. The university courses “at a distance” are also subjected to the same bonds as the traditional courses. So, the parallel enrolment for more courses isn’t permitted, apart from the type of course and the University to which it belongs to. In case of faulty observance of the rule, the possibility to obtain the qualification is cancelled, without any economic compensation.

I have already enrolled for a course of university study, can I attend the course of telematic studies?

Yes, you can. It’s possible to pass from a course of traditional studies to a course of telematic studies by effecting a transfer from the belonging University to Pegaso Telematic University. The transfer request from another University is supplied with an application for career evaluation, with which the student asks the council of Faculty to evaluate his own previous study course and to transform it into valid university formative credits for the new study course begun.

I have a degree: can any exams be ratified?

The career evaluation of the students who enter a study course is effected by the Council of Faculty. It’s necessary to enclose to the application for the career evaluation the programs of the teachings required.

Who should I apply to in case of problems?

For every course supplied a class tutor is provided to whom the student can apply in case of difficulties. The role as a tutor is realized in four forms: - guide / consultation; - monitoring of the classroom’s overall trend; - coordination of the students’ group.

How can one enrol for the exams?

In order to enrol for an exam the student will have to insert his name in the enrolment list; this procedure can be effected only by web by using the form to which it is possible to enter from the home page of study courses. The day of the exam the student will have to have the university student’s record book ( if the university student’s book isn’t still available, it must be substituted by a certification demonstrating the enrolment ) and by an identity card.
