TRAINING AND REFRESHER COURSE
The university training is a big open yard. Nowadays experiences , that were once unreal, such as the one concerning the company professorships, the thesis at the firm, project works, teachers with contract coming from the firms, training combined with the degree, accredited professional experience become practicable.
HIGHER TECHNICAL TRAINING
For a rapid insertion in the working world , that requires higher and higher qualification levels and specific competence, Advanced Technical Education and Training have been established, according to the law n,144 of May 1999, for the young and adults, employed and unemployed who, after obtaining the certificate, intend to specialize. The Advanced Technical Education and Training courses, lasting from 2 to 4 six-month periods ( from 1200 to 2400 hours ), have the following characteristics:
. they refer to professional figures with large spendability on the working market;
. they are planned and realized by universities, by professional training centres, by advanced schools and by firms associated each other;
. they are organized according to national standard by each District on the basis of the territorial needs;
. they are given by the school, the university, the professional training’s teacher and, for half of the lessons , by experts coming from the working and professional world;
. they provide stages and training at the working places for 30% course at least.
At the end of the courses a specialization certificate valid on the whole national territory is given supplied with the formative credits acquired that can be used by who would like to continue the studies, even if in a second moment.

CONTINUOUS TRAINING
The continuous training is extending on all the developed countries. In Ocse area the continuous training is considered a “higher continuous professional training”( continuing professional education ) that is realized in every education form directed to adults , already in possession of an initial high qualification and / or the equal professional experience, who need to update or to widen their own knowledge above all in relation to their professional activity.
Every single university , due to the reform law on the educational system of 1990 ( law 19.11.1990, n.341, art.6 ), can open courses of education and external cultural and formative activities, including the adults’ cultural refresher courses , and also the ones in the permanent recurring training, and for the workers.
Moreover, thanks to the DM dated 22nd October 2004, n.270 art.3 “the universities can open, by regulating them according to the university’s educational system, courses in scientific specialization and in higher permanent and recurring training, subsequent to the degree and the teaching degree. At the end of these courses , the first and second level master are issued”.
It’s obvious, so, that in this sector a rigid educational system on the various courses can’t exist. The courses often are created on firm, institution and professional association request.
