Hi I'm Giampaolo Bovenzi and I am a Tenure-track Researcher (RTT) at the Department of Information Science and Technology (DINF), Pegaso Telematic University, since February 2026. Previously, I was a non-tenure-track Researcher (RTD-A) at the University of Naples Federico II, where I also received my Ph.D. degree in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in June 2022. I'm a member of the Traffic research group, headed by Prof. Antonio Pescapè. My research interests focus on machine-learning-based network traffic classification (with emphasis on anonymized and encrypted traffic), network security and intrusion detection in IoT and mobile networks, explainable and class-incremental learning, and blockchain in Industry 4.0 scenarios. I have co-authored 30 papers in international journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. My work has received 970+ citations on Google Scholar (h-index 16, i10-index 19) and 720 citations on Scopus (h-index 13).
